Artist statement
After working as a lawyer (and enjoying it) for twenty something years, both in Australia and Israel, I decided to make ceramic art my full time occupation. I fell in love with ceramics more than 15 years ago, studying it while being engaged in my other career, and finally it “caught up” on me.
After studying in various places, including Beit -Berl in Israel, I graduated in Diploma of Ceramics from Holmesglen Tafe Institute, Melbourne. The learning process, however, is a never ending one for me. I am constantly inspired by things around me and love to explore different forming techniques and decoration methods.
My work usually tells a story, whether it’s a functional object or a sculpture.
Sometimes my art work has a more meaningful statement, sometimes it is intended simply to convey a sense of intrigue or fun, and many times it is both, the “message” is laced with a lighter touch of humor.
