Artist statement
I began to learn pottery in 1970 in my mother-in-law's studio in Christchurch, New Zealand, but a year later we moved to Israel and I didn't do any pottery until 1992. I Iearnt one day a week for 4 years at Givat Haviva with Dalia Visek and Avner Zinger. Initially I worked mainly on the wheel but more recently I have also done handwork including printing on clay using lino-cuts. In the early 2000s I learned drawing and painting with Doron Bar-Adon. After retiring from my job as village doctor at the end of 2004 I did a 4 year sculpture course at the Basis School of Sculpture at Hadassah-Neurim, Beit Yannai
